But, as we get into the height of the summer season, I've been playing more tennis than ever and my hard work is paying off. I actually won a mixed doubles tennis tournament last month. Tennis has provided me with a competitive outlet that I was sorely missing after I retired from baseball.
At the beginning of June, I had the honour of being a guest speaker at commencement at one of my Alma maters, Durham College. It was a great experience and my introduction by Durham College's President, Don Lovisa, and my speech was captured on video (scroll ahead to the 35:30 mark).
My TWN schedule has stabilized and I will be working four days a week consistently from Saturday to Tuesday (with some additional shifts thrown in periodically) for the rest of the summer.
Of course, depending on what area of the country you live in, you may not be able to see me at these times as TWN runs five different feeds: British Columbia, Alberta, GTA, Atlantic and National (all times are ET). And you can see me, periodically, during these times on CBC News Network and on The National and CBC Toronto on Sunday nights.
