November Update - Baseball Talk and a Homecoming

Luckily for me and my love of baseball, my week filling in on the morning show last month coincided with the Toronto Blue Jays squaring off against the Cleveland Indians in the ALCS.

Obviously, the Jays' second consecutive ALCS appearance was a major news story that we covered quite in-depth during my morning show week.

That also meant lots of opportunity to discuss the Jays during the show and allowed me to showcase some baseball knowledge.

Here is a selection of clips culled together from that week (plus some Leafs stuff from a fill-in sports shift at the end of the month).

Keeping with the baseball theme, there are still a very limited number of copies of my baseball novel, 60'6": Balls, Strikes, and Baseball Mortality, if you are so inclined.

And there's been another change to my schedule at Global, but this one brings my broadcasting career full circle.

Starting tomorrow, I will be presenting the weather on the brand-new Global News Durham (formerly Channel 12), which is based in my hometown of Oshawa. Back in 2010, I unsuccessfully applied for a position with Channel 12 (I was admittedly too green then).

Now I will be delivering the weather on Global News Durham Wednesday through Friday at 5 p.m. It's pretty to cool to say that, in addition to the other markets in which I present the weather, I will be on-camera in my hometown.

So, my updated scheduled is as follows (all times local):

Wednesday - 5 p.m. newscast for Oshawa, 6 p.m. for the Maritimes, 10 p.m. for Winnipeg, Regina, and Saskatoon

Thursday -  5 p.m. newscast for Oshawa, 6 p.m. for the Maritimes, 10 p.m. for Winnipeg, Regina, and Saskatoon

Friday - 5 p.m. newscast for Oshawa, 6 p.m. for the Maritimes, 10 p.m. for Winnipeg, Regina, and Saskatoon, 11 p.m. for Toronto, Montreal and the Maritimes

Saturday - 10 p.m. newscast for Winnipeg, Regina, and Saskatoon and 11 p.m. for Toronto, Montreal and the Maritimes.

Sunday -  10 p.m. newscast for Winnipeg, Regina, and Saskatoon and 11 p.m. for Toronto, Montreal and the Maritimes.
